“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you them anyway.”- Mother Teresa
There could be no better way to start tonight’s post with such an inspiring message such as this one. I have to consistently remind myself that I have to stay true to who I am in a world that is continuously trying to change me. This process is not easy by any means but I feel it is necessary in order to live a happy and fulfilled life. It is also important to surround yourself with like minded people that will help keep you motivated throughout your journey. Trust me you will need these people on your lowest days when giving up seems like the only option. Well I am here to remind you that giving up is not an option.
A good friend of mine recently expressed to me “adversities builds character” understanding this concept will help you navigate your journey with more confidence. At the end of the day your character is who you are so focus on being a better version of yourself and trust that the rest will follow.
I encourage everyone to look within themselves and try to be a little kinder to each other. We could all use a little more love in our lives.
The shoot happened to be in Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park, which I have never visited during my time in New York. However I must say it is a breathtakingly beautiful serene place. Perfect place to escape the busy city life and clear your thoughts. My dear friend Mr. Yearn decided to meet me on an Sunday afternoon just as the sun was setting. He was able to catch the softness of the sunset while over looking the city. The setting was truly magical and inspirational. I advise anyone visiting New York to take the time out and head out to this island.
I decided to base my outfit around my tan thigh high boots. I had to chose the right length on top to balance the tallness of the boots. I happen to find this extremely warm varsity style jacket at Century 21 which paired great for a more relaxed look. I wore my favorite backpack from Urban Outfitters and my fun ear muffs from H&M. Looking fashionable in the colder winter months is possible!
