Every year my family gets me something special for my Birthday. This year I happen to fall in love with a pair of Via Spiga knee high boots. I love all the features like the peep toe, the back lacing up and the rich leather material. In my opinion a pair of boots like these should be worn with a very simple look. I played with the simplicity of black attire and added a rich caramel color coat for contrast.
Mondays can be tough for just about anyone. In life I learned that everything is about perception. The way you perceive a certain day of the week will ultimately be your choice. I have to confess and add that I am guilty of falling into the trap of Monday blues but I’ve decided to rename the notorious day to “Power Mondays.” This way you can think of each week as a fresh start to a new week. Where you may set new goals and accomplish new tasks. This particular shot was taken on a very cold Monday before I headed into the office at 9:00am. My look of the day consisted of my favorite Zara blazer, black skinnies and black pumps. I love to layer and the weather was perfect for my oversized gray coat.
The steps of Lincoln Center can make you feel grand in a city that typically makes you feel so small. I walked through the columns of the prestigious center for the performing arts. Also the home of Fashion Week for a few years. I decided to put on a show and wear my gladiator heels with a cape blazer. The look of the day consisted of a white crispy cape blazer, a simple white button up and a pairs of caged heels to add some fun.
One of my favorite areas in the city is Soho which stands for “South of Houston Street”. The cast iron architecture is what attracts me the most to this area. It would only be fitting that i wear my gray suede cigarette trousers. The look was completed with a leather jacket and leopard printed strap pies. Good thing I have experience walking on cobble stones from many years of experience in the city of Boston, Massachusetts.
One of the best parts of the city are the hidden gems. They say the best “Chinatown” is in New York City and whoever said it wasn’t lying. The neighborhood is foreign yet welcoming at the same time. I remember this day being cold with just the right amount of sun. We were able to access the roof of a 6-story building and see breath taking views. The walls on the roof were filled with graffiti and gave the building such character. My look of the day consisted of a faux fur jacket, leatherette joggers and basic pumps.
